Families and Students,
Due to precautions being taken by Cambridge Public Schools concerning COVID-19, the use of school space by outside groups has been suspended until April 18th. In accordance with CPS’s decision, ALL Saturday Stars classes will NOT be meeting at Graham & Parks until April 18th. Our permits were pulled last night, so we greatly appreciate your understanding and sensitivity to the situation, as we are doing our best to respect our partnership with CPS and keep students and families safe.
In total there will be 5 missed classes. We are working with staff now to create at-home rehearsal structures and lesson plans that we will make available to you. We are also working on creative ways to keep rehearsal interactive with the technology we have available. We fully intend to continue working on each of the productions your students have been so dedicated to rehearsing. We are committed to your students and believe that much can be learned despite not being able to physically rehearse together. We will update you as soon as possible with details about the at-home rehearsal structure.
Due to speed at which events are unfolding, we are unable to provide any videos or packets for this Saturday, so we ask that your students take time to memorize their lines and cues. We highly encourage that, if possible, students practice with a family member or a friend. You can use this article for other helpful tips for line memorization (BT4W has no affiliation with this website and there is also no need to memorize lines “fast” – just helpful ideas).
Our original schedule was to have no class on April 18th because of April Vacation week. However, to ensure maximum rehearsal time, we WILL have class on April 18th.
Please understand that we are doing our best to respond efficiently to this developing situation. Again, we truly appreciate your flexibility during this time. As always – the show must go on! Feel absolutely free to contact me on my email (sophie.bt4w@gmail.com) or cell-phone number (503-863-7805) with questions or concerns. “
