Auditions 

Auditions are designed to be fun and easy! and we will have staff available to help everyone feel comfortable. Audition sign ups will start online and at each middle school starting in November!

What do I need to prepare?
  • Please bring a song of your choice to sing.  Many people come and sing Happy Birthday if they do not have another song in mind.  We just want to hear you sing something you are comfortable with!
  • Everyone will learn a small dance combination even if they have no prior dance experience
  • Everyone will read a few lines as a character from the show given to them at the audition.

Rehearsals

Where?
When?
  • Cast list goes up in December
  • Rehearsals start in January for Senior cast
  • Rehearsals will be on Mondays, Tuesdays  and Thursdays from 3-6pm. Not all students are called for all rehearsals.
  • Students in Senior cast will be called for either one,  both or all 3 days days depending on role.
  • Students in our junior cast will be called about every other Tuesday starting in February until two weeks before show time when they will come about twice a week
  • All students will be called twice a week two to three weeks before the production.
  • Detailed rehearsal schedule will be published in Dec.after casting.
  • Show will be held mid June
How can my student get there?
  • Students may be allowed to sign up to take a bus from their school to Central Square. Please check with your school to find out which bus and if your child is eligible. Be sure to indicate on your parent form that your child will be taking a bus and needs to be met by staff (we do not oversee or have any power over the bus schedules and student eligibility to get on a bus).
Who can be Involved?
  • Any student in Cambridge in 3rd through 8th grades that would like to be involved…CAN BE!
Do I need to have experience?
  • No experience necessary.During the program each student will receive training in acting, singing and dancing!
Does the program cost anything?
  • The program is free! However, We do ask parents who feel able to donate anything they can in order to  keep our programs free. Our mission is to make sure everyone who wants to be in a musical….can be in a musical!
