To Our Community,
First, I want to thank the BT4W community for sticking with us through what has been a very challenging time. With Covid 19 hitting us early this spring, our dedicated and innovative teachers worked hard to continue our programming and ensure we could keep Cambridge youth engaged with theatre and their peers. This meant learning new skills in technology and teaching styles quickly and I am forever grateful for their perseverance. As an organization we did our best to keep our teachers employed, our programs running, and your students engaged! We hope as the year ends, in the face of some of the greatest difficulties our community has ever dealt with, you will find watching your children’s theatrical work across all of our programming a source of joy. In lieu of a live performance, each of our 5 citywide programs endeavoured to create an online “movie” experience to share with the community to conserve a sense of togetherness through the arts. We want to celebrate how each student has been resilient and able to find their creative voice during these trying times by watching their work together- even if virtually. For safety reasons, each program will receive their own zoom link to a watch party and we hope that family and friends will all feel free to come.
Because we do not have a live performance we are not selling tickets, which is usually a large part of our yearly revenue. We will ask, however, for a suggested ticket donation to help us offset costs for keeping our programs running. Anything you can give would greatly help us ensure that we can get through the year able to cover costs for staff and overhead. I want to thank you in advance for anything you choose to donate.
